These 13 years have gone by too quickly, and Sally and I have so many fond memories of guests who have visited the Inn from all over the world. Locals seeking a quiet romantic evening, history buffs eager to see Boston's many national landmarks, parents visiting college students, families celebrating special birthdays, weddings or anniversaries, and hundreds of travelers from around the world stopping in Boston on extended road trips. We have learned a lot from all of them, and we hope you will treasure your memories as we do.
The Charles Street Inn will be converted to short term furnished rentals with kitchenettes with opening set for fall of this year. Best Wishes and Thanks for enjoying our comforatble, elegant accommodation in the most charming neighborhood in Boston!

New England Travel Magazine Award

The Charles Street Inn had been honored by the New England Travel Magazine for one of it's chosen top places to stay!

Walk through the narrow door into one of the cavernous rooms in the nine-room Victorian themed inn, light a fire, and you'd swear you were staying at a country retreat, not a B&B in the heart of downtown Boston. But despite rich period furnishing and the general air of quietude, all the excitement of Charles Street and Boston Common is just steps from the front door.

Guest Praise

We have had some fabulous guests this winter! Many folks have been taking advantage of our cozy fireplaces and Ultra Bain jet tubs for a winter escape to Boston.

Our wonderful guests have had nothing but praise for the inn:

"I would go back to the Charles Street Inn OVER AND OVER. This is NOT a place you would want to miss. After an entire day of going and going, there is nothing lilke the feeling of coming home, an actual home rather than a room...Oh, and the breakfast was an actual breakfast! The fruit was very fresh, the eggs were cooked to perfection, and the pastries were fresh from the oven. Pure heaven!"
-Guests from Longview, TX

"The Inn was everything they advertised and more. The working fireplace made for a romantic setting and we enjoyed breakfast each morning in front of the fire. Our car remained parked for the visit and we either walked or took a cab to our destination...We look forward to visiting the Inn again possibly later this year but definitely next year."
-Guests from Londonderry, NH

"The location in the heart of Beacon Hill can't be beat. The room and bath are both charming and luxurious. Breakfasts have a good selection of food and are brought right to your door at the designated time. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended!"
-Guests from Bloomfield Hills, MI

"We stayed at the Charles Street Inn for New Year's Eve. The staff was extremely helpful with every request and the room was magical. Having a fireplace with the warmth of the room truly showed the quaint richness of Boston, especially being located on Charles Street."
-Guest from Boston, MA

"Room was fabulous, breakfast in the room was great, dining recommendations were excellent. I would recommend to anyone for business or pleasure."
-Guest from Kennebunkport, ME

So, if you're feeling the winter blues, maybe what you need is a last minute getaway at the Charles Street Inn!

Website Renovation

Time to revamp our website with a new wider format, photos, simpler organization and easier reservation form. We enlisted friends, neighbors and even a guest as volunteer models. Professional photographer, Joey Libby, set up some great shots and made the effort a lot of sun for all of us. Check out her website at http://www.joeylibbyphotography.com/, and check our website in a couple of weeks to see how these people enlivened our beautiful rooms. We are going through boxes of fire logs as guests really enjoy the fireplaces and whirlpool tubs in the winter wonderland that is Beacon Hill this winter. And, check out our dinner specials-still a great value for an relaxing intimate evening.

Winter Fun in Boston

There are lots of fun activities to do in Boston once the snow starts flying. If you're an outdoor person, ice skating on Frog Pond in the Public Garden is a well-loved tradition among locals and out-of-towners. (http://www.cityofboston.gov/parks/ttd/frogpond_winter.asp)

Want to stay warm and see a performance? Several shows are playing throughout Boston right now. Check out the website to see if any of them spark your interest! (http://www.boston-theater.com/)

This time of year is the perfect time to visit Boston's fabulous museums. If you still haven't seen the new Art of the Americas wing at the Museum of Fine Arts now is your chance! (http://www.mfa.org/) Right next door at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, you can take in a live music performance every Sunday as a part of their Sunday Concert Series. (http://www.gardnermuseum.org/music/concertmain.asp)

At the Charles Street Inn, guests are welcome to retire to their rooms after their winter activities and light themselves a fire, enjoy hot cocoa, or relax in their jet tub. What a perfect way to end the day!
